Dapo channeled his jazz roots when Disney called on him to write & produce songs for Bayou Boogie – Toe Tapping Tunes Inspired by The Princess and the Frog. The video below on YouTube has both songs: “Everyday Princess” (lyrics by Jamie Houston) and “Sing Away Your Blues” (lyrics by Jessi Alexander) – Vocals by Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana. Dapo channels his jazz roots in his version of “Down In New Orleans” (written by Randy Newman for Walt Disney’s THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG – in theaters nationwide this Friday, 12/11). Dapo’s version is sung by “Princess Tiana” (Anika Noni Rose) and is on the “Tiana and Her Princess Friends” cd – available now!

Dapo had another great session today with Disney’s newest princess, Princess Tiana: Tony Award-Winning, Anika Noni Rose for The Princess and the Frog. Dapo had fun talking with her about the accuracy of her African accent in the HBO series, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency. (Starring Anika Noni Rose and Jill Scott.)
